You don't have to be an all-night party person to get the most out of Mykonos. The early evening scene is centred on Little Venice where you can sip a cocktail at one of the many bars and cafes which are so close to the water's edge that your feet get soaked when a boat passes. | | Day 5 | Mykonos | June 22 Monday: Mykonos Greece Depart 11:00 pm | | Day 6 | Kusadasi | June 23 Tuesday: Patmos Greece Arrival 6:30 am Depart 11:00 am Kusadasi Turkey Arrival 3:00 pm Depart 8:00 pm | | Day 7 | Thodes | June 24 Wednesday: Rhodes, Greece Arrival 7:00am Depart 6:00pm | | Day 8 | Santorini | June 25 Thursday: Heraklion, Crete, Greece Arrival 7:00 am Depart 11:30 am Santorini Greece Arrival 4:30 pm Depart 9:00 pm | | Day 9 | Piraeus | June 26 Friday Piraeus Greece Arrival 7:00 am
Patmos is known as the site of the apocalyptic revelations of St. John the Divine, written here during his exile from the Roman Empire. The cave where he lived is near the site of the Monastery of the Apocalypse. The Monastery of St. John, built on one of the island's highest points, houses priceless icons and manuscripts in its Treasury.
At Kusadasi an optional tour to nearby Ephesus should not be missed, for here history truly comes to life. Walking towards the ancient harbor, down a marble road rutted by the wheels of countless chariots, you pass architectural masterpieces like the Library of Celsus before arriving at the Great Amphitheater where St. Paul preached.
Heraklion is just three miles away from the fantastic ruins of the Palace of Knossos. Discovered in 1899 and partially reconstructed, the elaborate Palace is believed to be the mythical Labyrinth of King Minos and the seat of ancient Minoan culture.
The island of Santorini is perhaps the most breathtaking of all the Greek Islands. The town of Thira white-washed houses, narrow streets, open-air cafes and glittering boutiques cling to steep cliffs, accessible by cable-car or mule.
